If these features are enabled in BIOS, you should disable them and check if the issue is resolved. Solution 4 - Disconnect all USB devices USB devices such as external hard drive, printers, etc. After findign out that Edge Extensions cannot be installed this is getting too much. Still no response from MS on this defcon 1 issue.

If I hit any performance problems I'll try the LPM trick with the registry. Memtest86 They need to be more careful!
I suppose this wasn't a related issue, but we did have very similar symptoms. Computer Freezes Randomly Windows 10 And the bloatware/invasive 'helpful reminders'.... It seems isolated to my user profile. Later on Windows updates came up and would fail/succeed on updates.
You may also be able to select Memory Diagnostics from the Advanced Boot Options menu (F8 at power up). EDIT 2: /u/SoloWingX -- maybe you could put the batlight out on the AHCI issue in your main post? Ram Test Few users have reported that USB 3.0 drivers can sometimes create problems, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to update USB 3.0 drivers as well. I think systems goes in a deadlock after some deferred service goes up.

However, after switching on Optimus (using the built-in Intel GPU to drive the display) and disabling the NVIDIA card, the problem still occurs, so I'm pretty sure it's not that. I bench marked the SSD in this configuration and it is running at super fast speeds of AHCI (400Mb/s) but with the same stability I had in IDE mode. What I am left with now, is that it has to be something wrong with one of the three following; CPU, RAM, MOBO (or am I wrong?) - I have no Windows 10 Safe Mode Never thought that a gpu could cause a computer not to boot or to freeze the entire system!
Since it's making my (only) computer virtually useless, any help would be much appreciated. Fixed after installing "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver". Loops trying to restart.. check over here After that , go to http://www.nxhut.com/2015/01/storahci-id-129-reset-to-device.html.
I guess i'll try updating again in a few months? Blew in them to avoid any old dust.– Bought new RAM with same result– Unscrewed my fairly new cpu cooler and checked for lack of cooling paste. Update 17: u/bruliniko has another potential solution what helped him, and it's installing the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage Technology.
