Neale first suggested the installing of the SmartSound patch, and that fixed the error for about everyone, who encountered it. But yes, I do need the SmartSound music files also, (for my background music. However, some codecs that were supplied through WMP may not be available for Sonicfire Pro to utilize for video playback. I think I could actually do at least some of the remaining work with any of my tools. Quicktime, while also not required, does provide some commonly used codecs for .mp4 and .mov formats.

The Music Scores appear to come as .sbsc files which appear to represent Adobe Soundbooth Score document, not .wav. This now becomes the enhancement opportunity for Avid. I'm going to use a 2TB drive and a 200gb partition for working projects. So to that extent the process is easier to get to a "fitted" audio clip. I suppose if money were no object, the thing to do would be to upgrade to PrE ver12, if only for the included sound library and purchase audio and possibly software
So, Smartsound tech support (stellar) came to the rescue. With the size of my external, it wouldn't seem memory is the issue.
