Radeon 9600 Pro Problem

The start menu and favourites will lag when I click them, games will not run, and every minute or two my monitor blinks off and I get a VPU Recovery message When I upgraded from my GF2 MX400 64MB to a GF4 TI4600 128MB, the game ran buggy. Simply, everything on the monitor on the desktop or playing a pc game is not viewable or playable. Last edited by jocko; May 1st, 2008 at 10:04 PM. For both of them, when I try to start the game, the cursor changes to the spinning CD cursor, just like it used to, but then it does nothing. The game isn't even running in the background; the program just stops without even an error message! VC doesn't pull that screwy sh*t with the txd.img stuff. Keep in mind I had 10 installs of GTA3 at the time and they all did the same thing regardless of which files I tweaked, removed, etc.
Perhaps they don't want you to extend the life of the card as it will cut into its future profits.That's fine. Maybe you need to wait for someone more experienced with these drivers than me. Now I have the same problem with my Geforce on my laptop and I can't find how to fix it.... Did you have to mess around with teh prefrences, or did it always work fine? And GTA3 works fine for me, it's only VC that's messing up. I ended up replacing them both with very cheap generic AGP cards which works well for the most part but it would be nice to have a slightly higher end card You can probably find these in your monitor manual (which you may find on the manufacturers home page). Is there any way to get this to work they way it should for desktop output?
Yes, my password is: Forgot your password? I havent got it to work that way due to my setup. I don't overclock, so I reset the CMOS anyway. I have a ATI Radion 9600 pro i have also tried the restriced drivers and they refuse to stay enabled.

I have a Radeon 9600 Pro and a Radeon 8500 LE.
Gives a post code of 26, meaning overclock error. just power down, pull the bad card and put in the new one.I've seen several versions of the card on the net starting at say $47.00 or so... In the specs of the 8RDA+ I see that the 8RDA+ is rated for 8x. When you do that it will change the frequency to the moniter and this would fall out of my LCDs range.
