I'm waiting for my new Intel 2.66 box to come tonight and am currently running the 30" off of a Power Mac G5 with the ATI Radeon 9600 XT AGP and You should be able to save the drivers to a file and point the "Found New Hardware Wizard" to that file when the new card is detected. navigate here I found even after all the tweaks I mentioned above, the card still doesn't work.
Do not know if there are problems with HD cards, generally the fglrx driver should be installable on Lucid. I bought the ati radeon 9600 pro 256MB card brand new off ebay. So I argued with them because I've never heard of compatibility problems due to the amount of video memory.
why are you trying to install proprietary ones?
