but you will only see it in benches or a sata 2 only board using two ports will give you sata 3 speeds. Laden... Feel free to add some more input if you guys would like, or if you had any personal experiences with setting up RAID arrays on SSDs, I would totally appreciate you Sustained read throughput, if the controller or software is optimized for it, approaches the sum of throughputs of every drive in the set, just as for RAID 0. navigate here
It did, however, spawn 2 more questions in my mind:1) How can I identify a good RAID 5 controller? (Is the one on my DFI lanparty UT good enough?)2) Can I If you really care about affordable storage space then get the 3 TB disk, it is the cheapest per GB. It is about 10 seconds, or 60%, quicker than the Seagate Desktop HDD 3 TB. Some times theres even a slight studder in the game other times the frame rate drops bad.

At most you get the same performance since only 2 spindles are used to hold data while the third holds a error-correcting check. http://robotadv.com/raid-0/raid-0-transplant.html The larger the drive capacities and the larger the array size, the more important it becomes to choose RAID 6 instead of RAID 5. RAID 10 also minimizes these problems. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID I dont care if the Raid 0 drives crash and burn because my wife handles all our imporant info. He could sell the idea to the wife as a prudent move for data redundancy. Raid 1 For Gaming
In the case of needing a lot of storage, or saving money, sure, get an HDD. cipher_nemoAug 5, 2010, 9:03 AM Nudebie said: So I'm just setting up 4x 1.5tb Seagate 7200rpm drives in a Raid5(ICH10) array. (A gaming RAID, if you will)
Can't find your answer ? However with 8W per disk this is not something you should worry about. PCI controllers are limited by bus bandwidth; to get the full benefit you really need PCI-X 64-bit connectors at 66 MHz for large arrays. You can load the game from a RAM drive that's 50x faster and the improvement will be marginal.
If I do, it will likely be due to Fire/Flood/Act of Nature. That's pretty much all I really needed to know. Writes to a RAID 5 are almost always slower since you have to generate the error-correction, so it depends on your controller.
