I am considering taking apart mine and replacing what is there, but am concerned they used the kind that hardens. Also, there is a BIOS update on Acer Support, but it doesn't say what it covers. If you are building a performance system, go with a board using the z170 chipset; preferably either asus or gigabyte. But my google searches have left me confused. For ram density, if you refer to how much is on a stick, like 128mb vs. 256mb, then a good rule of thumb is higher ram first then the next higest. check over here Tech Support Guy is completely free -- paid for by advertisers and donations. As time goes on they squeeze more onto the individual chips but I guess older motherboards are unable to use said denser ram. Thanks in advance! Namebrand, implies any vendor that is happy to place thier name to thier product, other than ?XYZ123? If it's CTxMyS8Dz, then it's double density (e.g. 4 chips for 128MB), and you may well only see half the RAM on older chipsets (say 750Mhz or LX).I think of the Brian Cooley found it for you at CES 2017 in Las Vegas and the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
