I have downloaded and installed the Take Ownership patch and do get Take Ownership on the right click menu. We only use it to send you the newsletters you request. I'm seriously considering partitioning my C drive and dual booting with a Linux OS - 8 was bad enough this is just sheer incompetence.

After realizing why the folders are set up this way and figuring out the correct way to fix the problem by setting the user privileges I'd rather not modify this setting.
