Sadly the functionality of the > permissions is only available on the professional version > of xp so looks like I will need to upgrade. One can revert to Win 7, 8.1 from within Win 10 and reinstate again provided its done by end of Aug 2015. To set the permissions for the share itself, right click and select properties on the shared folder.
