Random Crashing With Windows XP
Mine need a lot of pressure before the catches click into place. My XP desktop started with 512Mb and when I upped it to 1Gb it made a big difference. Disappointed if MemTest doesn't find the problem, I've heard lots of good things about it. My graphics driver is updated though. his comment is here

I will adivse that they are virus scanned before opening them though, just to be on the safe side! I got caught out once by buying cheaper low density modules which were incompatible with the high density ram already installed. I now remember it crashing my old PC as well. I have tried to reinstall the OS form the I386 folder, reinstalled windows xp sp2. I *believe* I have a test for the problem (copy many files). And yes, I remember the constant crashing.
